Amy Clarke
Amy Clarke’s
painterly background has been steeped in her direct response to the land in
which she grew up on a property in south-west Queensland - between St George and Roma, and later on the
Sunshine
Coast hinterland. Having
moved away and lived in the city for twenty years she has returned to a rural
environment which she is discovering to be her spiritual home. Clarke finds a
translation which is not always literal, as in Elizabeth Cumming's philosophy of
a deep love and respect for the landscape, ' more the spirit of the
place'.
Clarke is an
emerging Australian artist and has been exhibiting for ten years. Her work is
in private and corporate collections in Australia and
overseas.
